Tubby Tompkins

Tubby is a mischievous friend of Lulu Moppet in the comic strip Little Lulu, as well as one of her rivals. He is actually named Thomas Tompkins. He is also the main character in Little Lulu. He was voiced by Arnold Stang in the Paramount version and Bruce Dinsmore in the American CINAR version.

Personality, Appearance And Bio[]

Although he is the deteuragonist, Tubby gets into as many adventures as Lulu Moppet does. He comes to Lulu Moppet's help whenever she needs it, though he has tormented her as much. Tubby is the leader of The Fellers, though his poor memory often forces him to slack off in paying his debts, so his friends often remove their leader from office due to his behavior. Tubby takes his outfit design from a sailor's uniform. He has reddish blond hair and tends to be overweight.

Tubby has an alternate form called "The Spider". In that form, he is a detective. In 1990s animated series, the form introduced in Jr. Detective Tubby, where Tubby transforms into said form when his friend Lulu Moppet asks him to help out in solving a mystery as to who vandalized the city. Tubby, however, reveals himself to be the true culprit, much to Lulu Moppet's anger concerning his antics, so she chases him throughout the city catches him in his house.

Tubby is in love with Lulu Moppet and Gloria Goode Darling.

His rivals are Marty the Midget and the West Side gang.
